Everything on SLUG these days seems to come from Max H. and Ron Headrest's
cousin CMP.SLUG ... except for a few notes that are signed. I don't know if
this is perhaps a problem with our mail dropping an additional line from the
header, but could folks sign their mail like this:

making the approriate substitutions, of course. Then I'd know who was speaking
    their mind. Thanks ...

I think you should check out your mail reader. The headers I generally
see look something like this:

Posted-Date: Mon, 1 Jun 87 12:06 EDT
Message-Id: <8706011605.AA15805@linc.cis.upenn.edu>
From: Richard Billington <Buff@cis.upenn.edu>
Subject: CMP.SLUG@R20.UTEXAS.EDU and anon.
To: slug@r20.utexas.edu

Resent-Date: Mon 1 Jun 87 14:23:07-CDT
Resent-From: CMP.SLUG@r20.utexas.edu
Resent-To: SLUG:;@r20.utexas.edu
Resent-Message-Id: <12307086106.51.CMP.SLUG@R20.UTEXAS.EDU>

It sounds like your mail reader is only showing you the Resent-XXX
headers, and not the original message's headers.
