This is to register a mild objection to "globalizing" names ending in "F" for "file". It introduces an unnecessary abbreviation and it is inconsistent with SETF, LOCF, INCF etc for which there is no alternative convention. (I have used PRINTF on occasion to mean "generalized print", for example). -------
