You might be able to get the behavior you want using the multiple page
option of WITH-OUTPUT-TO-POSTSCRIPT-STREAM.  Under this option, graphics
on the drawing plane which don't fall on the current page get put on the
next page.  In effect, the drawing plane is carved up into page sized
pieces and each piece is printed.  To exploit it you would have to
position the output of sucessive pages onto different parts of the
drawing plane using a translation.
