    Does anyone know how to do the following:

    1. Create a CLIM window with coord (0,0) at the bottom left corner with Y 
       going up instead of at the top left corner?

CLIM windows by definition have the (0,0) at the upper left.  You can
invert the sense of the stream's coordinate system by using
WITH-FIRST-QUADRANT-COORDINATES.

    2. How to print text side ways?

There is no good way to do this in CLIM 1.1
