This is a pity - the first impression is important and with the
current state of the CLIM demos, it is not terrific for CLIM.  When I
tried them (the 1.0 and 1.1 versions under Allegro and Genera 8.1)
they were really flaky: The tiles of the puzzle demo were not
formatted correctly (the single-digit tiles became narrower than the
two-digit ones in certain situations) and the text in the entry boxes
of the flight planner becomes garbled rather quickly.  On the other
hand, the flight planner is such a nice program - it would really be
worth to put some effort into it.

I think CLIM could also benefit from a bit of "regression testing",
and maybe the demos would make good test cases.
