    Is SCROLL-EXTENT supposed to be a generic function or a regular function?

In Genera it appears to be a regular function as well, even though it is
documented as a generic function.  I think that this should be considered
a bug in the code, and that we should change it to be a generic function
in the code.

    The (Franz) online documentation and the (Franz) printed documentation indicate
    that it's a generic function.

    The actual definition in my image is a non-generic function.

    I was thinking of specializing this to my pane class.

    Any insights would be appreciated.
