     Is there any way to specify where on the screen a CLIM:NOTIFY-USER
     dialog should appear? At the very least, I'd like to be able to ensure
     it pops up around the middle of the screen.

     I'm using Franz CLIM 2.0.

  Try psasing the :x-position and :y-position keyword args.  These
  appear to be supported in some CLIM ports, but I cannot speak
  authoritatively for the Allegro port.

This wasn't implemented in CLIM 2.0 final on Allegro but a patch
now exists for the Motif port (patch3310). You can get this from
ftp.uu.net:/vendor/franz/patches (it should appear at some point 
in the next couple of days). Failing that send mail to
bugs@franz.com
