The Association of Lisp Users is pleased to announce a tutorial
scheduled for the Fourth International Lisp Users and Vendors
Conference, LUV'94, being held at the Berkeley Marina Marriott,
   Berkeley, CA, August 15-19, 1994.

Actually, Colin, John, and I are engaged in defining exactly what the
content of the course will be this year. We all agree that the
courses for that past 3 years no longer go far enough, and we plan to
accelerate the early material so that we can use at least half of CLIM
level II to do more advanced stuff. We'll supply more details as we
figure them out.

   5. CLIM level I

How to use the Common Lisp Interface Manager (CLIM) version 2.0 to
build interfaces to appllication programs. Use of application frames
presentations, menus and dialogs, commands, command tables,
       interaction styles, and drawing graphics.

       Date: 1pm-5pm, Monday, August 15, 1994
       Instructor: Colin Meldrum (Franz)
Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of Common Lisp and CLOS concepts.
Fee: $50 for full-time students or full-time academics
		      $125 normal registration
$175 late registration (received after 8-Jul-94)

   11. CLIM level II

Hardcopy, pointer tracking and manipulation, incremental redisplay,
table and graph formatting, drawing in color, the drawing
environment, and doing transformations in CLIM version 2.0.

       Date: 1pm-5pm, Tuesday, August 16, 1994
Instructor: John Aspinall (Harlequin) and Scott McKay (Harlequin)
Prerequisite: CLIM level I and/or a good understanding of CLIM,
		      CLOS and Lisp.
Fee: $50 for full-time students or full-time academics
		      $125 normal registration
$175 late registration (received after 8-Jul-94)

Note that class sizes are limited, and tutorials are subject to
instructor subsitution, schedule change, or cancellation due to
insufficient early enrollment. For more information, see the posting of
LUV'94 conference and registration form, contact the conference
   organizer below or see http://www.cs.rochester.edu/u/miller/alu.html.
