date error solved

I want to point out that the way that I solved the problem is identical to
what was suggested by mauricio@cs.columbia.edu, i.e. get a copy of the tar file
from ma2s2.mathematik.uni-karlsruhe.de directly. BTW, the problem occured
when compiling clisp files, not c files.
