Printing to a bitmap

 Hi,

   I am trying to find a way of printing character to a given bitmap. It seems
 that macl will only allow me to print to a stream/window-object. Does anybody
 know of a way of printing to a bitmap instead of the stream/window-object? Is
 this possible?

   Of course if somebody has a (getcharbitmap "a" font) function that returns
 the bitmap of the given character, that would work also.
