Listener activation in case of warnings

I would like to know if there is a way to disable the activation of
the Listener (e.g. during a compilation of a file) when a warning is
to be printed. If this is not currently possible it would be nice to
provide a flag, say *notify-on-warnings*, to disable the current
behavior. At the moment it is possible to compile a file "in the
background" while editing a text in a FRED window. But, it is very
annoying to reactivate the FRED window every time after a
compilation warning is printed.
