Floating Point Compiler

Yesterday, I sent a message requesting information on Erann Gat's floating
point compiler or other approaches which optimize floating point code and
prevent the consing of intermediate float values.  I forgot to mention that
I am not a member of the info-macl mailing list, so please send replies
