Floating Point Compiler

Does anyone know if there is a new version of Erann Gat's Floating
Point Compiler for MCL 2.0?  I have the original "Alpha Test version
1.0".  If not, are there any other similar packages which basically
optimize floating expressions in such a way that no intermediate
floats are consed (by compiling the expressions into 68881 code)?  It
seems that something like this should be built into the compiler.  I
love MCL, but even the simplest iterated floating point code (with
full declarations) puts the system into a mode where it is garbage
collecting about 50% of the time (on an 8MB Mac IIfx).
