printing on an imagewriter

well,  I tried printing a one page assignment out on an image
writer using the 'best' option.  Has anyone else tried this?
well,  it's soooooooooooooo slow,  that about 10 minutes later
it had printed a quarter of a page,  and I just said forget it.
is there anything I can do to speed this up at all?  like,  are
there some drawing options I can turn off?  like,  this really
is kinda ridiculous...
