You have some form of background process taking up processor cycles - I have
seen this, for example, with DiskExpress, the background defragger. As
DiskExpress detects no user activity soon after printing starts, it decides to
cut in and boy, does printing slow!
I would recommend that you turn off all background processes before printing
like this.
