One thing I would appreciate much is an editor which allows a
hierarchical view of the code, similar to the notebook editor of
Mathematica or the outline mode of Microsoft Word. Thus one could
adhere to Knuth's "literate programming" style. Also I often 
append at the end of a function a few lines of test code which I
would normally not like to see.
