y-or-n-dialog (bug?)

I seem to be able to get MCL 2.0 final into a state in which the edit,
eval and tools menus are grayed out. command-e (eval) also stops
working in Fred.
It seems that this happens on occassions in which i hit command-.
(abort) while an y-or-n-dialog is up. It does not appear to be
consistent. Has anyone else seen this?
