Pixpats in Editable-text-dialog-items

Hi,

Does anyone know of:

1) An invisible background editable-text-dialog-item class
     (So that I can paint the background behind the text myself)
OR
2) An editable-text-dialog-item class which takes a pixpat for 
   the background?
OR
3) The original code for editable-text-dialog-items so I can change
   the view-draw-contents and build my own class?
