There was an article about CLOS in comparison with other languages in
Communication of the ACM, Sept. 1991:
Gabriel, White, and Bobrow: "CLOS: Integrating object-oriented and
functional programming." The
article includes a lot of discussion about how CLOS compares with C++ and
other object-oriented languages, but only at an overview level.
BTW, this issue includes several other good articles about LISP, with lots
of ammunition for us LISP-lovers to use against the uninformed.
