Wow. This is really bad news! Makes MCL unusable for my pet project.
Oddly enough, one of the reasons that I switched back to MCL from
SmalltalkAgents is that SmalltalkAgents does not support linking to model
far libraries.
I am beginning to think that if I want to work with object oriented dynamic
languages, I will have to switch platforms. Unix hardware is much more
reasonably priced these days, but software development prices are a bit
high for hobby use -- guess I can use GNU stuff. Well, maybe I will switch
to a Sun or HP next year instead of a PowerPC, after all.
