Problem compiling KCL on SGI 4D

I am trying to compile AKCL-1-492 on a Silicon Graphics 4D/320VGX under
version 3.3 of the operating system.  I am getting an error in compiling
setf.c: (ccom) setf.c, line 1365: ccom: Internal: schain botch 4
               goto T408;}
             ------------^
*** Error code 1 (ignored)

How do I get around this problem?
