AKCL 1.603 on RISC/6000

Greetings all.

I was recently coerced into compiling AKCL 1.603 on a new RS/6000 (AIX 3.1).
Everything went ok, except that loadmprotect failed.  The system still
runs, and seems to work fine, except that:

moose(tree) 125% akcl
loadmprotect failed (-1)
AKCL (Austin Kyoto Common Lisp)  Version(1.603) Fri Oct 25 13:11:55 EDT 1991
Contains Enhancements by W. Schelter

Does anyone know what is going on?
