Why doesn't someone re-write the ITS file-system to include properties
which aren't in the text of the file? A standard operation on the file
would be to ask it what the foo property is, and another one would
set the foo property. Arbitrary properties could be supported, and properties
would be kept separate from the text of the file, where they probably aren't
appropriate. Such a feature is going to be in the Lispm file system when it
comes out, and it makes a lot of sense.
