Free solid modeling software




SuperSketch is a highly interactive (``real time'') solid modelling
system written in Common Lisp and running on Symbolics Lisp Machines.
It employs Superquadric modelling primitives (a superset of spheres,
cubes, cylinders, etc.)  together with first and second order
deformations and Boolean combination to achieve a suprising level of
modelling generality.

It is especially designed for AI applications; a description of some of
its uses may be found in the article ``Perceptual Organization and the
Representation of Natural Form,'' A. Pentland, Artificial Intelligence
28 (1986) 293-331.  A more complete description of the system is
available upon request.

Binary and partial source code is available free to degree-granting
academic institutions.  Full source code is available at extra cost.
Corporations may also purchase copies of this system with or without
full sources.
