Of course, on the Macintosh, Ivory can't use the RAM on the processor
board because Apple doesn't allow them to partition main memory
between the 68020 and other processors. A Mac II with 8MB of main
memory still needs 8MB of NuBus memory in order to support MacIvory.
I was told by a Symbolics person at AAAI that the Ivory can access the
SIMM memory (on board with the Mac), but that it takes longer than
accessing NuBus memory because the Mac processor has to get involved.
