Calling Customer Service for bad sectors

Our experience with this type of error was that the problem was the power
connector to the disk rather than the actual disk. Of course this was
discovered only after trying to replace the disk. This would be my first
reaction since the error was not specifically given as a disk ECC error
which is the typical use for the Fix-fep-file and related commands.
When we had a destroyed Fep-file header that results is losing a single
fep file (and in an error on any FEP directory command), the tools for
recovery are there, though buried deeply. Generally the tools for recovering
from all major disk errors, except the destroyed header block errors, are
documented in the 7.2 patch notes or Volume 0. Bottom line is back up your disk,
this applies to any system you run on.
