ZMAIL like interface

I am trying to build an interface with a summary window
and an editor window (i.e. like ZMAIL). The editor
window should have the following functionality:

1) Depending on which item is selected in the summary
   window, the editor window should be updated appropriately.

2) The editor window should be scrollable at all times.

3) When the editor window is selected with the mouse,
   it should function just like a ZMACS editor.

I have tried several different window flavor defintions for
the editor window, and none of them have worked appropriately.


Any suggestions and/or code on how to implement this
window/interface?
