X bitmaps from postscript

    Does anyone have a little function to take postscript files and make X
    bitmaps thereof?  

Since the production of the image can be arbitrary PostScript code, a
*little* function is pretty much out of the question.

The Image Substrate system from Symbolics can read a PostScript image
file (by running a full PostScript interpreter, looking for image
operators) and can write an X bitmap file.  Unfortunately, it's still
bundled with Concordia.
