Symbolics to Sun Port Questions

    2)  During this port, I am thinking of changing over to CLOS.  
    What experiences has anyone had in doing a Flavors to CLOS 
    translation?

I stand corrected on my previous comments pertaining to CLOS performance
in response to this question.  As Moon has indicated, the performance
hit for changing to CLOS should be minimal.  I have verified this to my
own satisfaction using the same code that gave me reason to make the
comments in the first place; I observed about a 20x improvement over
what I had seen in CLOS in beta Genera 8.0.  I should have checked first
and commented after; I had no reason to expect this kind of improvement
because when I asked Symbolics about CLOS tuning during the beta test
period, the response was that there might not be much due to "other
priorities."  Nonetheless, I should have checked first.
