Unix password encryption for RPC is included in Genera 8.0.1.  It was
not in Genera 8.0.  That explains why you see a difference.  Currently,
there is no way to turn it off since it is trying to provide security
that wasn't there before.  Of course, it is pretty simple to change the
code to get the old behavior back, if that is what you want.  As far as
I can tell, as long as the file access path is around, you won't be
prompted for a password after the first time.  If not, you might want to
check the documentation for fs:*remember-passwords*.
