Lispm security

    I have been checking into at least slightly enhancing the security
    around our Lisp Machines....

    Can I get some suggestions as the best way to install password 
    protection and some basic file protection (restriction of who can
    read and write to different files or directories) under Genera 8.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The standard file server software supports passwords and directory (but
not file) protections.  See Section 6.6, Access Control Lists, of the
Site Operations manual.
