NFS write from emacs (on an SGI) to lispm hangs-up forever

Any clue as to what is happening and a way of getting around it, sluggers?
    Sun to symbolics works fine.

It would have been nice if you had sent us your original problem
description.

One problem that we've run into when using the Lispm as an NFS server is
that the NFS server needs to query the client for some information.
Specifically, it needs to determine the client's userid->username
mappings. It does this by trying to open the client's /etc/passwd, or
doing an RPC query on the client to find its NIS server and query its
passwd map.

It's possible that the SGI isn't responding to these queries, so the
Genera NFS server can't continue.
