Frame Current Layout

Should changing the layout using something like:

(setf (frame-current-layout *application-frame*) 'other)

cause the window to be resized?  For example, if I've got an
application that has two layouts.  The first contains a small text
display with a few push-buttons; however, the second contains a larger
number of panes which can not fit in the same sized window as the
first layout.  When I change from the first to the second layout,
should the window be resized??
