Can one use clipping regions inside windows (views)?

Given that the calls to "with-focused-view" inside the drawing
functions in QuickDraw.lisp reset the clipping region to the boundary
of the view, what is the point to having the view functions
set-clip-region and clip-rect?  Are there any plans to support
user-defined clipping regions within views?
