I'm trying to write a simluation-type game like life. I'd like to have
various species that would die, procreate, eat, etc.
I'm thinking that I need a function to calculate the likelihood that an
animal will do X, assuming a standard distribution around an average time
t.
A quick perusal of co-workers and a stats book gives me a lot of arguments,
a lot of formulas that look wrong, and a headache.
I guess I'm asking for something like random, that will return a higher
probability the closer (time) is to a pre-set value.
Any suggestions welcome. e-mail would probably be most appropriate. I'll
summarize if warranted.
