G206 and G208

Can anyone explain that difference in flod files? Documentation says
something about a machine using "either one" but not why, whether they
are exclusive to a given machine, whether they can be swapped, etc.
Paul:
G206 is the original FEP kernel release for G-Machines (3610,3620,3630,3650,3653).
G208 is a newer version which contains support for ESDI disks and CAD Buffer II. G208 is
required only if you have those two products. Otherwise they're identical.
