A number of Symbolics customers are interested in a version of Statice
that would run on non-Symbolics platforms. Symbolics would like to
develop a version of Statice, called Portable Statice, that would run on
many platforms.

Sorry about that. Statice is Symbolics' object oriented database
system. Statice allows you to create, read, write, delete, and share
objects among multiple Symbolics machines, and those objects survive
persistently across machine boots. A run-time version is bundled into
8.1, the development version is a separate layered product you may
purchase. Please see your sales rep for further details.
