Remote Screen w/X-terminals

	(b) is there anything I can do to configure the remote-screen
	    facility to not allocate so much pixmap space?

Disable the X terminal's "backing store" (the automatic saving of the
pixel maps of unexposed windows).  The color pixel map for a single
full-size Genera window can occupy up to a megabyte of RAM.
