We also have a 3670 running 8.0, on a DECNET. We haven't had this problem. We had a similar one a while back (under a 7 version), but it turned out to be because of a bad cable that sometimes got bumped. Unless somebode else has had similar problems, I would think hardware is a more likely culprit. Maybe it would help folks to know what network environment you are using. ... Rick
